Become a marker for the CPA certification program

Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) is looking for a few good markers for the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). If you’re interested, here’s what you need to know.

You can make a valuable difference to the CPA profession and help the next generation of accountants by being a CPA marker. CPA Canada hires markers throughout the year to evaluate module examinations in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). Marking positions are available in English and French; bilingual markers are preferred. You can find out more about upcoming modules, their respective examination dates as well as marking centre dates by viewing the marking schedule.

September 2020 CFE

We will be holding the Common Final Examination (CFE) evaluation centre remotely due to COVID-19. There are five marking sessions noted below.

  • Day 1: October 8-21, 2020
  • Day 2 Assurance Role: October 6-19, 2020
  • Day 2 Performance Management Role: October 7-17, 2020
  • Day 2 Common Assessment Opportunities (Financial Reporting): October 5-18, 2020
  • Day 3: October 10-24, 2020

Compensation:

  • Flat fee and a fee per case (TBD)

If you are a CPA member in good standing and want to play a role in this important process, please:

  1. Complete the CFE marker application form.
  2. Email the form to cpamarking@cpacanada.ca.

Applications will not be accepted after August 7, 2020. 

CPA PEP module-end examinations

Marking commitment:

  • A minimum 24-hour commitment for live marking plus an 8-hour training day per marking session is required.
  • All training and marking are done remotely.

Compensation:

  • Remuneration is based on a fee per case marked (ranges from $10 to $15/case).
  • A rate of $60 per hour is paid for arbitration papers.
  • A flat rate is paid for mandatory preparation and training time.
