This in-residence course provides an overview of the foundational elements of Canadian private corporation tax and highlights critical issues in current tax legislation that general practitioners commonly encounter and need to know about in order to advise their clients for the future. Improve your ability to identify tax issues and gain a better appreciation of tax-planning techniques while reviewing the CRA’s current administrative practices and positions.

NOTE: Preparatory work, including online reading and elearning, is required to fully benefit from this in-person course. Access will be provided at least one month prior to attendance.

You will learn about:

  • personal and corporate tax planning
  • estate and trusts
  • port-mortem planning
  • corporate reorganizations

Who should attend?

  • professional accountants who do not specialize in tax (general practitioners)
  • other financial professionals who handle income tax matters
