Jay is a Director within BDO’s Forensics Group and specializes in the Insurance Loss Advisory practice. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, Certified Fraud Examiner and is Certified in Financial Forensics. Jay has over ten years of experience in the field of commercial insurance claims, damage quantification arising from commercial litigation disputes and fraud investigations. Jay is experienced in claims related to losses from catastrophic events such as those resulting from Hurricanes Ike, Sandy, Harvey, Irma and Maria as well as losses from various floods, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. Jay has been engaged on various types of assignments across Canada and the US, which include business interruption, property damage, stock and contents, extra expenses, downtime losses, rental losses, and jewelers block. He has also been involved in litigation and other forensic accounting assignments such as commercial damages quantification, personal injury, fidelity and financial investigations. Jay brings a wide range of industry expertise to his role with experience in retail & wholesale, hotel & hospitality, waste management, construction, healthcare, transportation, automotive, food services, rental properties, livestock and energy (oil and gas, mining and power generation) sectors.
