Title/Position: Managing Partner Company: Lester Landau Shawn started his career in public practice in 1989 with a small regional firm in Southwestern Ontario. During his career building years, Shawn spent time developing his assurance, accounting, tax and advisory skills. At the same time Shawn developed a strong desire to help build capacity in the accounting and finance field. In 2000, Shawn and his family moved to Iqaluit, Nunavut. Through involvement with many Inuit in financial positions and Inuit organizations in general, he noticed there was always a desire for skill improvement and confidence building. In response, he presented and trained whenever given the opportunity including delivering CPA Canada’s Financial Literacy workshops across Nunavut. Shawn has always believed in giving back to the community. Through the years he has been involved in his local church and as a volunteer board member of organizations. From 2001 to 2015, he was part of the Iqaluit Chamber of Commerce as treasurer and then as president. From 2013 to 2019, Shawn was involved with the Transitional Steering Committee for merging the 3 legacy accounting bodies into CPA NWT/NU. He is currently the treasurer for the Kivalliq Chamber of Commerce and Nunavut’s representative on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
