Cities are on the front line of climate change impacts. Learn how climate-related information can support municipal stakeholders with internal financial decision-making and enhance the usefulness of a city's public financial records. (French only)
Please note this webinar will be presented in French only, with English slides.
In order to integrate climate change considerations into capital planning and short- and long-term budgeting, decision-makers within municipalities need reliable and consistent climate-related information. Further, external stakeholders are increasingly demanding information about a city's relevant climate risks and opportunities in its public financial reports.
While the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations were developed for use by the private sector, increasingly cities and other public sector entities are recognizing the applicability of these recommendations within their own organizations.
This webinar will provide you with a deeper understanding of the TCFD recommendation areas and how adopting the recommendations can enhance internal decision-making and external reporting. You will also hear from a leading Canadian city about its experience with implementing the TCFD recommendations, including strategies for overcoming barriers.
