The Board of Directors for Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) has approved the appointment of Charles-Antoine St-Jean, FCPA, FCA, as President and CEO, effective July 20, 2020. St-Jean succeeds Joy Thomas, FCPA, FCMA.

With Artificial Intelligence (AI) increasingly impacting business and auditors, Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) have partnered to produce two new white papers on the topic.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the unprecedented sums of relief money moving across the global economy, the threat of financial crimes and malfeasance continues to grow. In this context, Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) today published a report that explores a key facet of uncovering and fighting illegal activities: beneficial ownership transparency.

For the second year in a row, Pivot has scored an impressive haul at the National Magazine Awards: B2B competition. Published by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), Pivot garnered three gold and six silver awards after having been nominated a leading 18 times in ten categories. And, after winning last year, Pivot was an honourable mention in the Best Magazine category as well as eight others.

Due to the stress and uncertainty caused by COVID-19, CPA Canada has cancelled the Q1 2020 Business Monitor. Going forward, the quarterly survey work is suspended until further notice.
